Editor sidebar
Use the AI Agent, TM and TB matches, row metadata, and translation history without leaving the row you are reviewing.
How the sidebar follows your work
Open the side panel from the Editor toolbar. Assets, Metadata, and History use the currently focused row. When you move to another row, these sections update together after the new row is ready, so information from two different rows is not mixed.
- AI Agent
- Keeps file-specific conversations, working scopes, and reviewable change proposals. Its scope can include the table selection, but the panel is not limited to one focused row.
- Assets
- Shows TM or TB suggestions for the focused row. Switch between TM and TB in the section header.
- Metadata
- Displays the focused row's category, subcategory, grouped source items, and available context. This section is for inspection.
- History
- Shows saved translation versions for the focused row and active target language, with the action, contributor, and time.
Use TM and TB matches in Assets
The TM tab compares the focused source row with translation-memory entries. The TB tab shows terminology relevant to the row. A result can include its resource, match percentage, source and target text, category, status, file or speaker information, and update history.
Insert a reference result
- Focus the target row you want to translate or review.
- Open Assets and choose TM or TB. Wait for the results to finish refreshing after changing rows.
- Review the resource label and match information, then inspect the full detail when category, speaker, or update information affects your decision.
- Choose Insert to place the target text at the active target caret, Copy to copy it without editing the row, or Edit to open the underlying reference entry when that action is available.
- Review the resulting target draft and commit it through the normal target editing flow when it is ready.
After completion: The chosen text is available in the target cell for review. Using a suggestion does not make the reference result authoritative or bypass the row's normal save and permission rules.
Read row context in Metadata
Metadata explains how the focused row is classified and where it belongs in the source structure. Depending on the file, it can show category, subcategory, other source items in the same group, and context such as speaker or structural information.
- Use category and subcategory to interpret the row's purpose before choosing terminology or tone.
- Use Group items to read neighboring source entries that belong to the same logical unit.
- A blank section means the selected row has no available metadata; it does not indicate that the row failed to load.
Reuse a saved translation from History
History is specific to the focused row and active target language. Entries are ordered by time and can show the saved text, action, contributor role, contributor, and timestamp.
Insert an earlier version
- Focus the row and select the target language whose history you need.
- Open History and compare the saved versions, their actions, and timestamps.
- Select an entry, then choose Insert to place its text at the active target caret or Copy to place it on the clipboard.
- Review and commit the target cell through the normal editing flow.
After completion: The historical text becomes a current draft only after you insert it. The original history entry remains unchanged.
Arrange the sidebar
Select a section header to collapse or expand it. Drag an available section boundary to change its height. Assets uses the remaining flexible space, while the resizable sections keep the heights you set for the current editor view.
- Collapse panels you are not using to give the active panel more vertical space.
- Closing the entire side panel hides the sections; it does not delete a thread, history entry, metadata, or reference resource.
