Projects
Create and maintain the boundary that groups a job's languages, source files, translation resources, context, collaboration, reports, and settings.
Purpose and entry points
A project is the working boundary for one translation job. Open an existing project from the Dashboard sidebar or a Dashboard work row. To create one, choose New project in the Dashboard sidebar.
The project sidebar organizes Source, translation resources, context, collaboration, reports, and settings. A menu is shown only when the project, workspace plan, and your assigned access include it.
- Workspace
- Owns the project and cannot be changed after creation. Choose it before entering the project name.
- Project name and description
- The name must be unique in the workspace. The description is optional and appears as shared project context.
- Source and target languages
- The source language is fixed after creation. Authorized users can later add or remove target languages in Project settings.
Create a project
- Select the owning workspace. You can create a new workspace from the same form when that option is available.
- Enter a required name and optional description. The name is checked for duplication in the selected workspace.
- Choose one source language and one or more target languages. The same language cannot be both source and target.
- Save the form. While the request is running, keep the page open; a successful creation opens the new project.
After completion: The new project appears under its workspace in the Dashboard sidebar and opens ready for source upload.
Workspace security state
Personal workspaces use the standard protection mode. An organization workspace can use its own standard or encrypted protection mode, which was chosen when that workspace was created and is not a per-project choice.
Edit project settings
The edit form lets an authorized user change the project name, description, and target-language set. The owning workspace and source language are shown as established project boundaries and are not editable there.
Problem
The project name is rejected
What to do
Use a different name in the selected workspace, or open the existing project with that name before creating another one.
Problem
A created project does not appear
What to do
Return to Dashboard and refresh the workspace list. Confirm that you are looking under the workspace selected during creation.
Delete a project
The project edit screen currently offers permanent deletion; its Archive control is visible but unavailable. Delete only when the project and its dependent work are no longer needed.
