Project settings

Review the project's identity and language configuration, save supported changes, or permanently delete the project when authorized.

Who can change project settings

In the project sidebar, under Manage, select Project to edit the current project. The menu and its actions appear only for roles allowed to manage the project. If you can view the project elsewhere but Project is missing, ask a project manager or workspace administrator to make the change.

Update the project identity

The first section shows the fixed workspace beside the editable project name and optional description. Use a name that is unique within the workspace and a description that helps collaborators identify the content or delivery purpose.

  • The project name is required and checked for a duplicate in the same workspace before saving.
  • The description is optional and can be revised without changing the project's content or language setup.
Workspace
Shows where the project belongs. It is locked after creation; moving a project is not an option on this page.
Project name
Required and unique within the workspace. The changed name appears in the project header and project lists after saving.
Description
Optional context for collaborators. Changing it does not change files, translations, assignments, or resources.
Source language
Shown for reference and locked after project creation.
Target languages
Editable, must contain at least one language, and cannot include the source language. These languages determine the language tabs available across the project.

Manage target languages carefully

The source language is displayed but locked for an existing project. Target languages remain editable and must contain at least one language different from the source. They define the language workspaces and resource associations available throughout the project.

Save and verify changes

Save project changes

  1. Change the name, description, or target languages. Save remains unavailable until the required fields are valid and something has changed.
  2. Before removing a target language, check its files, translations, assignments, TMs, and TBs. Return to Settings only after deciding what work must be retained or exported.
  3. Choose Save. If a field shows an error, correct it and save again. Do not navigate away while Updating is shown.

After completion: The project header and project list show the saved name and description, and project screens show the saved target-language tabs. Existing files and resource entries are not rewritten by this save.

Delete a project permanently

The danger section is available when editing an existing project. Archive is currently unavailable; Delete opens a confirmation dialog and requires the exact current project name before the destructive action is enabled.

Problem

Save is disabled

What to do

Make a real change, enter a non-empty project name, and keep at least one target language different from the source. Wait until name checking or an existing update finishes.

Problem

The project name is rejected

What to do

Use a name not already used in the current workspace. Check the workspace shown beside the name, because names in another workspace do not affect this check.

Problem

Delete remains disabled

What to do

Type the current project name exactly as shown, including spaces and capitalization. If Delete or the danger section is absent, ask a project manager or workspace administrator to perform the action.
