Project members
Control who participates in a project, distinguish workspace-managed access from direct membership, and assign the project role used by collaboration features.
Open and read the member list
Open a project and choose Members. The table shows each member's display name, email, project role, membership source, and available actions. Search by name or email and use column filters for role or source.
Add workspace members to the project
- Select Add member. The dialog lists active workspace members who are eligible to join this project and are not already represented by the current access rules.
- Search by name or email, select one or more people, and choose one project role to apply to the selected group.
- Confirm Add member. After access preparation succeeds, the refreshed member list shows the new direct project members.
Understand roles and membership sources
- Admin, PM, and Translator are project roles. The actions shown to a member reflect both that role and the project's current access settings, so the role label alone is not a complete permission list.
- Organization-managed means access and role come from workspace-level administration. Its role is displayed as read-only here and the member cannot be removed from this project page.
- Direct project member means the person was added specifically to this project. Authorized users can change the displayed project role or remove that direct membership.
Message or remove a member
Use the mail action to compose a message to another member with the current workspace and project already set as its context. This opens the shared account message composer; it does not create an Issue or change an assignment.
Complete a member change
- Name and email
- Identify the workspace member. Search either value when the list is long.
- Role
- Admin, PM, or Translator describes the member's project role. A read-only role must be changed where the workspace-managed access is administered.
- Source
- Organization-managed roles are read-only here; direct project members can be changed or removed when the action is available.
- Choose Add member and search for an active workspace member by name or email.
- Select one or more people and choose the project role to apply to all selected people.
- Confirm Add member, then find each person in the refreshed member table.
After completion: Each newly added person appears as a direct project member with the selected role and can then be chosen in assignment workflows.
Problem
A person is not offered in Add member.
What to do
Confirm that the person is an active member of the same workspace and is not already included through workspace-managed or direct project access.
Problem
Role or remove controls are unavailable.
What to do
Check the Source column and whether the row is your own. Workspace-managed members are changed outside this page, and the page does not offer removing yourself.
