Collaboration

Coordinate assignments, project questions, member access, and handoffs without separating them from the files and languages where the work happens.

Who collaboration is for

Collaboration connects project managers and translators around a shared delivery workflow. Assignments and My work organize responsibility, Issues preserves questions and review decisions, and Members controls who participates in the project.

How the collaboration areas fit together

  • Assignments: managers register file versions by target language, group them into batches, and define shared or schema-specific workflow steps.
  • My work: each member sees only the batches, files, workflow steps, deadlines, and progress assigned to them, and opens the exact file and language in the Editor.
  • Issues: participants create reports or comments tied to source or target content, discuss them in one thread, and track resolution and confirmation.
  • Members: authorized managers add eligible workspace members, choose their project role, send a direct project message, or remove direct members.

Status and authority

The available buttons reflect what you may do in this project. Read-only access can show assignments, issues, or members without showing controls for changing assignees, roles, statuses, or deletions.

Check a handoff

People
Members shows who can participate and whether their access is workspace-managed or added directly to this project.
Work
Assignments identifies the exact file version, target language, workflow step, assignee, deadline, and progress being handed off.
Open questions
Issues keeps the affected content, discussion, resolution status, and participant confirmation together.
  1. Open Members and confirm that every assignee can participate in the project.
  2. Open Assignments and verify the file version, target language, workflow step, assignee, and deadline.
  3. Open Issues and clear, answer, or explicitly leave visible every unresolved thread before delivery.

After completion: The handoff is ready when the intended people can open the exact assigned work and any remaining issue is visible with a clear owner or decision.

Problem

A collaboration menu is missing.

What to do

Confirm that collaboration is included for the workspace and ask a project administrator to check your project access. A missing menu is different from an empty list.

Problem

Progress is complete but delivery is not ready.

What to do

Review unresolved and unconfirmed Issues, later file versions, and work outside the selected batch. Assignment progress covers only the workflow units counted in that assignment.
