Business partners

Maintain organization-scoped clients and vendors, their contacts, and language-pair sales or purchase rates for business workflows.

Access and screen layout

Open Workspace, select the organization, then choose Business > Partners. You need an active organization membership. Organization administrators can open it, as can project Admins or PMs who have Business access in that organization.

  • The left pane searches and filters All, Client, or Vendor partners and can include archived entries.
  • The right pane shows company details, roles, archive state, notes, contacts, and pricing for the selected partner.
Search and role filter
Search partner details, then narrow the list to All, Client, or Vendor. Show archived includes inactive records.
Contacts
Stores people, communication details, notes, active state, and one primary active contact.
Pricing
Stores one sales or purchase rate for each source language, target language, and rate type combination.

Create and classify a partner

  1. Select New, then choose Company, Individual, or Collective.
  2. Assign at least one Client or Vendor role. One partner may hold both roles, so do not create duplicate companies only to represent each side.
  3. Enter the required name and any useful email, phone, website, address, and notes, then save.

After completion: The partner appears in the left list with its Client or Vendor badges and can then receive contacts and language-pair rates.

Partner records are scoped to the selected organization. Creating or editing one changes the shared Business record for that organization, not a project-specific copy.

Manage contacts

Use the Contacts tab for people associated with a company or collective. Add a name, department, title, email, phone, and notes as needed, and mark the primary contact when that person should be the default active contact.

At most one active contact is primary for a partner. Archiving keeps the contact record but removes it from active selection; permanent deletion removes it from the partner.

Manage language-pair pricing

  1. Open Pricing and select Add language pair.
  2. Choose source and target languages, then select Sales for a client-facing price or Purchase for a vendor cost.
  3. Enter an amount, currency, and basis such as per word, per character, per hour, per day, or fixed project, then save.

Archive, restore, and delete

Archive a partner when it should be retained for history but excluded from active use. Turn on Show archived to find it again and choose Restore. Contacts can also be archived independently.

Problem

A saved partner is not in the list

What to do

Clear the search, choose All, and turn on Show archived. Also confirm that the workspace selector still points to the organization where it was saved.

Problem

A language-pair rate cannot be saved

What to do

Select both languages and check whether the same language pair and Sales or Purchase type already exists. Edit that row instead of adding a duplicate.
